Scope and Contents
The Records of the Department of Communications and Marketing ranges from 1888 to 2015, though the bulk of the materials date from 1955 to 1984. The records document programs and events at or sponsored by Pratt Institute. The records include press releases, scrapbooks of clippings, loose press clippings, ephemera, and photographs in the form of prints, negatives, and slides. While these records were transferred to the Archives by the Department of Communications and Marketing, they document the activities of the Institute's different departments, staff, faculty, students, and affiliated organizations. Records about the Department of Marketing and Communications do not represent the contents of this collection but rather records created by the Department of Marketing and Communications for use by other Pratt departments and centers. Example of events documented in this collection include annual fashion shows, alumni reunions, opening of new facilities, benefits, President's lecture series, and exhibitions.
