Pratt Institute Memorabilia Collection
Scope and Contents
The Pratt Institute Memorabilia Collection contains memorabilia from related to Pratt: flags, banners, medals, awards, clothing, and other ephemera. Much of the collection consists of athletic memorabilia, although there are a number of awards, medals, and other keepsakes related to other aspects of life at Pratt. The items date from 1903 to 2016, with significants gaps and fragmentation. Many of the items are of unknown provenance. The flags, pennants, and banners date to the 1920s and 1930s. Some of them are identified by class year; others by an association with a school division, such as Engineering, or a fraternity; some of them are simply emblazoned with the name of the school. The medals and awards represent recognition of both individual and institutional efforts in a wide variety of fields and activities. The wearable objects in the collection also represent a diverse group of items, including a Pratt ring, a class pin from 1910, a t-shirt from the cultural studies program, and union buttons from both OPEIU and the United Federation of College Teachers. A seperate series contains athletic and fraternity memorabilia donated by William Berensman, including clothing, pins, and awards. A Pratt pillow and a 1903 class pillowcase comprise the ephemera in the collection.
